in newtown, connecticut as two more young victims of the horrible massacre are laid to rest. we'll go out to peter doocy, he will talk about james, who is called jay. he was a numbers guy and the other is jessica reko who loved everything about horses and playing with her brothers. other newtown schools will head back to school. and we'll hear more on what led to the shooting. hi, peter. >> gretchen, last night i was walking around and the streets are packed with people milling about in complete silence. the only noise you hear are cars and trucks passing by . yesterday, several of those trucks were moving trucks complete with their own police escort taking the furniture from inside of sandy hook over to mono, ron monroe to chalk hill middle school which is where students displaced by the awful tragedy will go back to class when the district decides that the time is right. >> the sandy hook school furniture is going to be move out and so it will be age and height and wait appropriate. but the healing and the back to normal see is worth every effort. >> authorities say they had no contact

lightly in the wake of that shooting in newtown. a threatening phone call prompted an investigation. he sent a recorded message explaining the content of that phone call. >> at 10:00 a.m., the caller stated you are next and hung up. the school uponned by immediate -- responded by immediately calling the police department and closing down the schools. all teachers did a great job and made sure everything was okay and police arrived and searched both calm campuses the police superintendent said a full investigation has been launched and they are trying to determine where that phone call came from. when parents came they came to check on their kids and any parent who has been fingerprinted and can volunteer to be part of patrols and they are encouraging parents to be involved as an extra layer of security. ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> an 18-year-old is accused of posting online threats. sergio was or priested -- was arrested yesterday and he said he supports what the gunman did and he has access to firearms inside his home. >>> in the meantime, we are getting new information about the

went back to the classroom in newtown, connecticut. while more families laid more victims to rest. in the words of one high school senior, there's going to be no joy in school today. meanwhile, one elementary school in town did not open after the school received some sort of threat. the district was not taking any chances. also, as the morning continues the focus now turns to gun control. today the white house says president barack obama is actively supportive of efforts on capitol hill to reinstate an assault weapons ban. nbc's jay gray joins from us connecticut with more on the young lives buried way too soon. >> reporter: yeah, good to talk to you. as you talk about another rough day. first graders from sandy hook elementary all gathered again to lay to rest two more of their classmates while students from other schools here went back to class for the first time since the tragedy. the pain offing good-bye has become a part of every day now in newtown. this grieving community buried two more first graders today. jessica rekos loved horses and asked santa for cow girl boots and h

. >> sure. bill: $16 trillion. now to newtown, connecticut, attempted normalcy and so much heartache. schools in the area opening first time since friday's massacre except of course sandy hook elementary which remains closed indefinitely as police continue their investigation there. there are questions whether it will be ever reopen. volunteers in the neighboring town of monroe, seven miles away, hard at work, getting a former middle school ready for sandy hook students. all of this as the grim task of bearing so many young innocents gets underway. 10:00 in the morning funeral services begin for james mattioli. followed by services for jessica reek coast. -- rekos. a rabbi spoke about that service. >> being celebrated as a pure innocent child by the promise of life ahead of him. who brought joy to his family and to his community and who will be sorely missed. as his older brother said he could have been anything if he had grown up. this is tragedy that we have no answers for this. bill: rick leventhal live in new town with this now. do we know anymore details about the killer, rick?
